Purple Fruit and Veggie Smoothie
This recipe is perfect for getting your nutrients in when time is not on your side. This is quick and easy. Simply throw all the ingredients in a high-powered blender, blend, pour and drink.
If you have the time, and want to make this part of a more filling breakfast, reduce the liquid content by ½ a cup to thicken. Then, pour into a bowl and top with granola and fresh fruit.
This recipe also works with other berry flavors, just substitute frozen strawberries or mixed berries or even peaches for the Blueberries.
Ingredients for Purple Fruit and Veggie Smoothie
Makes about 1-2 servings
2 cups Liquid: water, milk, almond milk, or plain yogurt
2 small chopped carrots
1 cup chopped cauliflower
1 banana
1 cup blueberries
Optional
1 scoop vanilla or unflavored dotFIT WheySmooth Protein
Directions for Purple Fruit and Veggie Smoothie
1) Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender, in order listed.
2) Blend on high until smooth.
3) Pour and Serve.
NOTE: if you do not have a high-powered blender you can blanch the carrots and cauliflower before blending.
